Production

This strand focuses on the observable stages children move through as they learn to produce writing. At first, they draw or scribble.

As their production skills develop, they learn to make forms that resemble letters. Then they learn to write a few conventional letters and their own name. 

In time, the child will string other conventional letters together, using them in ways other than writing his or her own name.
