Congratulations!
You have completed the Early Learning Scale online training.
You may revisit the elearning sessions when you have questions or would like to review. As you begin implementing the ELS in your classroom, remember to reference the ELS Guide Book and talk with your colleagues, coach, or administrator.
Getting Started
- Get organized! Plan a system for collecting and documenting data. Initially you may choose to focus on a small group of children or a particular domain on the ELS. Expand the implementation as you become more comfortable with the system.

- Make a plan! Identify specific times of the day during which you will collect data for each item on the ELS. For example, at the start of the day you can observe how children move through routines for evidence on the Self-regulation item. Also, at the water table you may choose to use the Scientific Inquiry item or Measurement strand to guide your interactions.
