Sociodramatic play

Make-believe, or sociodramatic play, represents mature play. 

In this play, children create scenarios to act out together, take and assign roles, and invent props to fit the roles and the story. 

They adjust their language use to tell the story and become fully immersed in play as they collectively negotiate the storyline.
