Numerical Operations

By playing with small groups of objects, children begin to think about early addition and subtraction concepts. They compare groups of objects to find out which has more or put together and take apart groups of objects to change quantities.

Children eventually use different strategies to solve problems, including using objects or fingers and using their knowledge of number patterns.
