The teacher used inch cubes to measure a long block. Jamaal watched, and then used his inch cubes to measure the length of his shoe. He lined the cubes up next to his shoe, counted them, and said, “See, it’s five blocks long.”
Jamaal showed that he understands how to measure things. He tried to be very precise when he lined up his inch cubes next to his shoe to find out how long his shoe was.
The teacher used inch cubes to measure a block, and Jamaal measured his shoe in the same way. He told the teacher how long the shoe was in “inch cubes.”
